Asian Americans For Texas Action Fund builds progressive political power with Asian American and allied communities across Texas through advocacy, voter engagement, electoral organizing, and coalition-building. We mobilize communities to shape elections, advance policies that reflect our shared values, and build a multiracial democracy where every community has the power to thrive.

Nabila Mansoor has spent the last several years working to improve political awareness in underrepresented communities. She is currently the Executive Director of Asian Texans for Justice and ATJ Action Fund, two civic engagement organizations committed to uniting, organizing, and supporting the AAPI community in Texas. Nabila is also past President of Asian American Democrats of Texas and past President of the Texas Multicultural Advocacy Coalition. She was the first Executive Director of Emgage’s Texas chapter and led ECI’s (Empowering Communities Initiative) 2020 Census initiative to ensure a full count of Houston’s AAPI population. She sits on the State Democratic Executive Committee of the Texas Democratic Party and is also a Director of MUD 137. Nabila has spent much of her professional and personal life in activating citizenship across differing groups of people. She has a background in community organizing, leadership development and strategic planning. She holds a law degree from University of Houston Law Center.

Debbie Chen is immigration attorney and a longtime community activist in Houston. She is the programs director for OCA-Greater Houston, a volunteer-driven organization of community advocates working with the local AAPI community with a priority of cultural organizing through the arts, citizenship, GOTV, exit polls, Census, redistricting, youth, education, and leadership programs. She is also the co-founder of the Houston AAPI Film Festival (HAAPIFEST). Debbie started her advocacy career as a student leader at the University of Texas–Austin advocating for an Asian American Studies Center, hiring AAPI mental health counselors, and including AAPIs in scholarship considerations.

Chanda Parbhoo is the Founder and Executive Director of SAAVETX Education Fund, Texas’s largest nonprofit dedicated to South Asian civic engagement. Born in apartheid-era South Africa, her early experiences with injustice shaped a lifelong commitment to equal representation. Through SAAVETX, she’s mobilized South Asians across Texas, helping build political power and ensure the community’s voice is heard where decisions are made.

Stephanie Cho is the executive director at Democracy Lab South, a movement incubation hub  aimed at enhancing capacity-building efforts of BIPOC communities in the South. She has over 20 years of experience in labor and community organizing, strategy, and fundraising at the local and national level. She led Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta as Executive Director (2015-2022). After the tragedy of the Atlanta Spa shootings, she initiated a rapid response team, extending wrap-around to support victims' families and survivors. Cho addressed the lack of immigrant representation by founding the Asian American Advocacy Fund, the state's first Asian American C4 where she was the Executive Director.
