In June 2026, political scientist Dr. Tom K. Wong released Texas’s first AAPI constituency-specific electoral poll, offering new insight into Asian American voters’ preferences in the U.S. Senate race. Four months later, a new survey commissioned by Asian Americans for Texas Action Fund reveals an electorate that is increasingly consequential to Texas politics, deeply concerned about affordability and family stability, and still waiting for political candidates to earn its trust. 

Talarico has a better vision of Texas and the country that resonates with Asian Texans, but he hasn’t yet consolidated trust with Asian Texan voters. Our communities are not a monolith. There is still a large universe of persuadable voters. And Talarico’s campaign can’t afford to ignore or take us for granted. This data makes clear what our communities need.

Asian Texans are one of the fastest-growing electorates in Texas with high-intent to vote. Asian Texans are the margin of victory in a razor-thin U.S. Senate race, but preliminary polling clearly shows that Talarico still has to earn Asian Texans votes.
